Heatpoints vs Dragonfly AI: workflows and limits

Both Heatpoints and Dragonfly have browser-based attention-review workflows. Compare the scope of the review rather than claiming that a live overlay is unique.

What Dragonfly AI offers

Dragonfly's official desktop-application guide describes browser-based predictions and reviewing regions of interest. It includes device-view workflows. This is direct documentation of a live-page use case, so older Heatpoints copy presenting Dragonfly as upload-only was misleading.

When to consider Dragonfly AI

Investigate Dragonfly if regions of interest and a structured creative-review workflow are central to your team. Ask for a demonstration with your real design task and verify current access, sharing and reporting conditions.

When Heatpoints fits

Heatpoints is a direct way to try a visible-tab overlay or compare exported images. Its grid metrics do not provide a semantic element-by-element account of every logo, button or face. A similar visualisation does not establish equivalent model performance or feature depth.

Initial free access has usage limits. Chrome asks for email verification after the initial scans. Pro is coming soon. Check the current allowance in the product; this comparison does not promise unlimited analysis.

Compare a real task, not just a score

Choose a representative image and write down what should attract attention before running either tool. Keep dimensions, crop and page state consistent. Inspect whether the result answers your question and whether you can explain it to the person making the design decision.

Scores from different products need not use the same formula or normalisation. A higher number cannot establish better prediction accuracy. No shared benchmark or conversion experiment was conducted for this comparison.
